| It is early morning. DANIEL KULANI stands
at the top of the bridge leading to the gazebo. He's anxiously waiting
for NINA DELANEY to appear. After a few beats, he sees her walking toward
him.
DANIEL: Nina. NINA: Daniel, this is crazy. I have to get to work. |

| DANIEL: It's over, Nina. Janine's gone.
You were right. About everything. How come you're so smart?
NINA: An ever present instinct for danger, maybe. Are you okay. DANIEL: Sam went with her. NINA: She's even more dangerous than I thought. DANIEL: A lot more. He seemed to know what she was up to... I think he can handle it. And he knows he can come back. DANIEL: I've missed you. NINA: Daniel. DANIEL: Are you okay? How's Tess? What have you been doing? NINA: I'm fine. Now. And I still have to get to work. |

| DANIEL: I don't want to let you go.
NINA: I have to. DANIEL: What happens if you're late? NINA: Think about twenty-five teenagers in a classroom with no supervision. DANIEL: They'll find something to do. NINA: Imagine what that might be. Or what might happen if I don't leave right now. DANIEL: Think about it. NINA: I will, all day. DANIEL: I'll see you tonight. NINA: Only if you want to go bowling. DANIEL: Bowling! NINA: I promised Tess and a friend of hers that I'd take them. You could meet me there. DANIEL: Maybe it'll rain. NINA: Bowling's an indoor sport. DANIEL: So's the one I had in mind. NINA: It'll be an early evening and Tess can spend the night at Haley's. NINA: Later. NINA: I missed you too. Daniel begins to laugh. |
