MARTIN BECK THEATRE / NEW YORK

The Byzantine-style theatre which opened in 1924 has room
for huge sets and hundreds of actors.

It reflects Martin Beck’s desire to house big, showy musicals.

Martin Beck was a vaudeville producer and was more
interested in spectacle than in realistic dramas.

The theatre is in excellent shape and has a distinctive character.

The fabulous Musical The Sound Of Music started here on
March 12, 1998 and ended in June 27, 1999.

Richard Chamberlain joined the cast on March 10, 1999.
