| The Slipper and The Rose.
Excellent musical-film version of the story of Cinderella based on the book 'The Slipper and the Rose' by Bryan Forbes and completed by the wonderful songs of the Sherman brothers. After her father's death Cinderella is forced
by her stepmother to do all the work in the house. Meanwhile The Royal
Court arranges a Bride Finding ball for Prince Edward.
The Prince refusses, he wants to marry for
love.
After a time of searching and fitting of the
shoe Princess Incognito lost at the ball, Prince Edward is desperate and
throws the shoe out of the window. Magic is coming again.
During the wedding-ceremony Cinderella appears, again with the interference of the godmother and it isn't too late for a marriage between her and the Prince. In the church they fall in love again. The Princess of the neighbouring country and
the Prince's cousin, the Duke of Montague fall also in love.
A happy end for all. |
