In a large metropolitan hospital a young intern
Dr. James Kildare is trying to learn his profession.
He has to deal with the problems of the patients 
and to win the respect of the seniorDoctor. 
Dr. Leonard Gillespie (Raymond Massey) was his mentor. 
The series were realistic portrayals of hospital life.
They used modern techniques and sometimes shock therapy.
The life and death aspect were normal subjects and were used for discussion.

  • made his first hit single Three Stars Will Shine Tonight.
  • the series became a great world success.
  • Dr. Kildare got many loyal fans.
  • acted for the second time with Raymond Massey.
