Tribute to Richard Chamberlain

Blackthorne glances from the steps, back toward Kiri.

Yabu is helping Sazuko to her feet.

Blackthorne watches, puzzled.
Sono is standing there, holding the curtain open as the figure
wearing the voluminous cloak and wide-brimmed hat hurries up,
then glances toward Blackthorne. It is Toranaga, his face painted
like Kiri's. Blackthorne stares surprised.

The gate is opened -- and the first contingent of Brown Samurai
move through, followed by the palanquins, Blackthorne walking beside Mariko's, Buntaro and the rest of the Samurai taking the rear guard position.

With Yabu in the lead, the procession moves toward the main castle gate. Sono stands in front of the curtains, as Ishido approaches. To Ishido's surprise, Sono doesn't move out of the way. A grey Samurai opens the main gate and for a moment it
seems the procession will be able to leave.
Then Ishido hols one hand up.

Toranaga parts the heavy cloak, reaching for his sword waiting, listening.

Ishido has his sword out. As Mariko hurries forward.
Ishido lowers his sword, then hits Blackthorne in the face with
the back of his hand. Blackthorne's eyes fill with rage. .
Everyone is motionless -- Yabu and Buntaro both ready
to draw their swords.
Ishido holds his sword ready, waiting to see what Blackthorne
will do -- and it seems that B1ackthorne is about to go for
Ishido's throat, Mariko steps toward him.

But Blackthorne's eyes don't leave Ishido -- and then, madly,
he starts to laugh, howling and cackling, as he dances
toward the main gate.

Blackthorne: "Follow me! Follow me! Tell them I've gone mad."
Blackthorne continues his insane laughter.

Ishido grabs a bow and arrow from one of the Grays, fitting the arrow quickly into the drawstrings.
Mariko moves quickly -- between Ishido and Blackthorne.
She moves after Blackthorne -- her back blocking Ishido's aim.
Yabu and Buntaro stand there, as Blackthorne dances up to the
gray Samurai blocking the open gate.
Blackthorne waves his arms, roaring with insane laughter --
as the Grays step aside. . Spinning and jumpinq, Blackthorne
crees through the gate-- as Mariko follows him,
still usinq her back as a shield.
Blackthorne continues his mad dance, movinq down the hill
away from the castle. Mariko keeps movinq with him.

Blackthorne:"Are they coming? I can't keep this up..."
Mariko:"Yes........Yes, Anjin-san. Our people are coming.
You can stop dancing now.
